The band’s sophomore studio album ‘Born Pink’ debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums list. As a result, BLACKPINK becomes the first all-female K-pop group since 2008 and the first female K-pop act in history to do so.

The record reportedly sold 1,02,000 equivalent album units in its first week of sales, of which 75,500 were album sales. The remaining 25,000 and 1,500 equivalent album units came from streaming services and individual tracks, respectively.

Following the debut of their first studio album ‘THE ALBUM’ at Number 2 in 2020, it is BLACKPINK’s second Top 10 appearance on the music chart.

Following BTS’ ‘Proof’ and Stray Kids’ ‘Oddinary,’ ‘Born Pink’ is the third album by a South Korean act to top the weekly albums list in 2022. BLACKPINK is the only K-pop act to enter the list at Number One, joining the two boybands and SM Entertainment ensemble SuperM.
