Kristen Stewart is set to receive the Visionary Award at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, as announced by the Sundance Institute on 14th December. The award aims to acknowledge Stewart’s “uncompromising work as an artist and contributions to the field of independent film” throughout her two-decade-long career. The press release highlighted Stewart’s bold and risk-taking storytelling, pointing out her 2022 Oscar nomination for her role as Princess Diana in ‘Spencer.’

The Sundance Institute emphasized Stewart’s connection to the festival, noting that ten movies featuring her work have been screened over the years, including her 2017 directorial debut short film, ‘Come Swim.’
