Xperience Sessions With Indie Artist Ahmed Khan
RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist, Ahmed Khan about his new collaborative Desi trap single, ‘Daily’ with British Asian RnB singer, Arjun.
Ahmed Khan raps in French and sings in Punjabi over an irresistible trap rhythm in the new popular single. ‘Daily,’ a star-studded Urban Desi track with the right mix of smooth vocals and hard-hitting bilingual lines, has Arjun’s signature RnB sound on the second verse.
‘Daily’ is accompanied by captivating graphics that bring the track’s story to life. The song video was shot in the romantic city of Paris and displays both performers in a regal backdrop with hanging chandeliers. The video is saturated in swag, from the luxurious design, boldness and locale, as it switches scenes to a club atmosphere. ‘Daily’ depicts a lonely woman who feels ignored by her lover but doesn’t realize that she is his only one, no matter where he is. Ahmed Khan is a Belgian-based independent Punjabi singer and songwriter.
Ahmed, a bilingual musician who has arrived to revitalize the music scene, has produced a sound that echoes some of today’s biggest chart-topping stars while also adding his own distinct bilingual vibe. Ahmed Khan has significantly pushed the Desi scene out of its comfort zone with his experimental sound, with the release of his critically acclaimed second album ’29 Summers,’ which featured UK Asian heavyweights like H. Dhami. Ahmed Khan will tour and release songs throughout 2022, after just finishing a set of gigs in Norway and London.
Arjun’s video has already received over a billion views on YouTube. His track ‘Tingo,’ which features Mickey Singh and will be included in his upcoming album, was another massive hit for the award-winning British artist, reaching number one on the Official Asian Music Chart and receiving over 6.5 million YouTube views and over 4 million Spotify streams. He has recently released collaborations with F1rstman, Faydee, Raxstar and Ezu, as well as co-writing and composing a song for Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.
Ahmed said about the track, “Daily has a very fresh urban feel to it. It’s a fusion of 3 languages together on a hard-hitting trap beat and all flows very naturally. I can’t think of another song out there at the moment which can capture a mood or a vibe like that. Collaborating with Arjun was such an honour, he added his own signature sound to the track, and really complimented it with his soulful vocals.”
