SZA is Taking a Break From Live Performances for a While
SZA has announced that she will be pausing her live performances for an unspecified period. Late on 5th August, the ‘Kill Bill’ artist took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the news, just one day after her performance at the Osheaga festival in Montreal, Canada. She expressed her intention to take a break to focus on personal matters and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to regroup.
SZA wrote: “Yesterday was my last show for a while. Finally ’bout to get my life together thank u God.”
SZA’s announcement follows a series of major festival performances across the United States and Europe, including a headlining slot at Glastonbury. On June 30, she took the main stage at the Pyramid Stage, where her impressive set was marred by several technical and audio issues. Addressing her performance on X (formerly Twitter), SZA defended her efforts, highlighting the courage it takes to perform publicly and acknowledging everyone who faces similar challenges.
In other news, Chappell Roan may have made history at Lollapalooza 2024. On 1st August, Roan took the stage at the long-running Chicago festival, drawing an enormous audience that quickly became a hot topic on social media as attendees packed the main stage at Grant Park.
While the exact number of attendees at Chappell Roan’s set in Grant Park is unknown, a Lollapalooza spokesperson confirmed to CNN that her performance was the largest daytime set in the festival’s history, describing it as a magical addition to Lollapalooza’s legacy.
