The Week in Music: News from 20th July to 26th July
So, here’s the deal – this week in music pulled the rug out from under our feet. Taylor Swift surprised fans with a massive reveal, Juice WRLD set a massive record, and Dua Lipa shattered the glass ceiling.

2. The late Juce WRLD debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with his posthumous release, “Legends Never Die”, with the biggest debut for an album in 2020.
3. Demi Lovato announced her engagement to beau, Max Ehrich, with a set of beautiful pictures on Instagram. The proposal took place on the beach.
4. Dua Lipa shattered the glass ceiling in music becoming the only female in Spotify history to have 4 songs with more than 1 billion streams each.
5. Taylor Swift surprise-released her 8th studio album, ‘”folklore”. The 16-track project is an acoustic-folk collection of music, steering away from her pop persona.
6. Nicki Minaj confirmed and announced her pregnancy with a series of pregnancy photoshoot pictures on social media. This will be her first child with husband Kenneth Petty.
7. Rapper Logic dropped his last studio album, “No Pressure”, before setting off on an indefinite hiatus from music.
8. Maroon 5 hopped back on to the music scene with the release of a brand new single, ‘Nobody’s Love’. The single is an upbeat pop tune.
9. Music group, One Direction, celebrated a monumental occasion – 10 years since their debut. The members took to social media to share heartfelt messages.
10. The Weeknd released an animated music video for his track, ‘Snowchild’. The video details Abel’s journey through fame, marking his decade in the industry.
