Charlie Puth Serves A Dinner Date From Hell in ‘Girlfriend’

Charlie Puth just brought quite the treat to the table: his brand new music video for ‘Girlfriend’.

The music video features Charlie struggling to whip up a fancy meal for his girl. But a pile of splattered egg shells, a burnt turkey and his awful pan flipping skills proves that this might just be a recipe for disaster. When Charlie Puth comes to terms with the current situation he opts for something easier: ordering in. We witness him delicately placing a chicken wing on top of a little leaf, with a cut lemon sitting right beside it – quite the fancy meal indeed.

The climax of this video is all sorts of ridiculous, making it an even more entertaining watch. Not a spoiler, but Charlie straps on some roller skates. Yup, we’re going to leave you hanging with just that.

Speaking of his experience making this music video, Charlie confessed,
“I’ve never released a music video that wholeheartedly showed my personality. The video for ‘Girlfriend’ is the first time I’ve truly been myself in every aspect. I can’t cook and I’m an absolute nerd. It’s also meant to visually represent what I want people to do when they hear my music and that’s to have fun in their very own way.”

The song also lends itself to this very mood, arriving with a fun cocktail of groovy beats and the star’s airy falsettos. Charlie Puth croons:
