It’s been over 20 years since Christina Aguilera performed at the
Latin Grammys which was during its inaugural awards show in 2000. She sang
“Genio Atrapado,” the Spanish-language version of her smash single “Genie in a
Bottle” from her self-titled debut album from the year before.
Two
decades later, Aguilera is returning to the Latin Grammys stage for an extended
performance at the 22nd annual event. Part of Aguilera’s performance will
include the recently released single “Pa Mis Muchachas” with Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso.
“You ready?!” Aguilera tweeted. “Here we come! I’m so excited to perform ‘Pa Mis Muchachas’ with these talented women and can’t wait for you to see the other surprises we have for you.”

Becky G also chimed in on social media answering
Aguilera’s question. “So ready!” she tweeted.
Earlier
this year, Aguilera said she was working on her second Spanish-language album
of her career. Her first was Mi Reflejo,
which was released the same year as the Latin Grammys first awards ceremony.
“It’s
a big deal right now and it’s really nostalgic and part of my Latin culture and
history,” she told Billboard in July. “So, this is really, really fun
to get into some family roots and explore who I am now as a woman musically.
Things are coming from a different approach.”
This
year’s Latin Grammys theme is “Rediscovering Life Through Music,” which is
reflective of what Aguilera is doing when she says she is returning to her
Latin roots as a musician. Bad Bunny and Juanes are among the artists who have been
added to the lineup for the 2021 Latin Grammys. The latest additions also
include Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Fernández, Maná and Myke Towers. J
The 22nd Latin Grammys will be hosted by Ana Brenda Contreras, Carlos Rivera, and Roselyn Sánchez. The show will air live on Univision, as well as TNT, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on November 18, 2021.
