‘Honkai: Star Rail’ Leak Reveals Early Gameplay Details for Saber and Archer

A new leak has surfaced hinting at how Saber and Archer—two of the most iconic characters from Fate/Stay Night—will play in 'Honkai: Star Rail. These two units are set to arrive as part of the game’s much-anticipated first-ever crossover, which was officially announced by HoYoverse earlier this month. The crossover will take place during Version 3.4, and players are already getting a glimpse at what to expect from the incoming heroes.

Though HoYoverse has yet to share detailed gameplay footage, some initial information was revealed in the announcement teaser. Saber will be a Wind-element Destruction character, while Archer takes on the role of a Quantum-element Hunt unit. Saber's Ultimate, briefly teased during the reveal, features her signature Noble Phantasm—likely serving as a high-damage ability.

Now, additional leaks from reliable source Shiroha are offering further insight into their potential kits. Archer is rumored to be a main DPS, with a playstyle centered on consuming Skill Points to maximize his damage output—typical for Hunt Path characters. Saber’s kit, by contrast, appears to be more team-oriented. Leaks suggest she may unlock a powered-up version of her Skill based on how many times her teammates activate their Ultimates. Both characters are slated to be available in-game starting July 11.

What Else to Expect in Version 3.4

The Fate/Stay Night collaboration will be just one piece of the Version 3.4 update. The patch will also feature a special event titled the “Penaconian Holy Grail War,” which revisits one of the game’s earlier worlds. Additionally, long-awaited character Phainon from the Amphoreus storyline will finally be playable alongside the crossover.

Version 3.4 is expected to go live on July 2—just ahead of the Saber and Archer debut.

Upcoming Content in the Meantime

Before the crossover arrives, players still have plenty to look forward to. Version 3.3 launches this week, bringing Hyacine as the newest addition to the playable cast. Cipher will join later in the update, and two reruns—featuring popular characters The Herta and Aglaea from Version 3.0—will also be included in the limited banner.

With a major crossover on the horizon and a packed update schedule, Honkai: Star Rail fans have an exciting summer ahead.
