Mariah Carey is Planning A Festive Treat

The past few weeks have witnessed a storm of activity in the music industry. Artists have been dropping fresh tracks left, right and centre. Just last week, Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat tied up for ‘Baby, I’m Jealous’. Preceding their collaboration, Zayn, Shawn Mendes, BLACKPINK and a string of other stars all battled it out for the spotlight. And now, there’s a new contender: the one, the only, Mariah Carey.

The star is gearing up to drop what fans believe is a sparkling new Christmas track. Oh but here’s the kicker:the track might just feature Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. 

It all began where storms often do, on social media. The star shared a picture of three directors chairs on set, each brandishing a set of initials: AG, MC and JH. Choosing not reveal anything else, Carey merely captioned her post with a sweet Christmas tree emoji. 

Now on one hand, the festive nature of this track isn’t a surprise considering that Carey is well-known for crafting heartwarming Christmas tracks. After all, ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ remains Carey’s biggest international success, reaching number one in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United States. In fact, in 2019, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for the first time, 25 years after its original release, thus breaking several records, including the longest trip to number one. It also managed to rake in an estimated sales of over 16 million copies, and remains one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Well, there’s still a good few weeks till Christmas time and something tells us Mariah Carey is going to use every second to cook up the finest festive treat.
