Normani Confirms Debut Studio Album
‘Motivation’ hit singer, Normani has a treat for her fans. The singer is all set to release her debut studio album soon quizzing fans who she should collaborate with. Although she hasn’t announced the exact date for release, she confirmed that her debut solo project is in progress.
On February 4th, Normani took to Twitter to tease her fans with the upcoming album. Fans couldn’t control their excitement thinking of the possible collaborations and hopped on to frantically tweet their suggestions. Her tweet has received close to 15,000 comments, 4,900 quote tweets, 41k likes and nearly 2,300 retweets.
Fans And The Collab Frenzy
It is not hard to think of names that would make for an epic collab partner with Normani. Fans almost immediately suggested a number of perfect potential music partners for the R&B star and the most popular one was Lauren Jauregui. They ensured emphasis on it using all caps! The duo are also former members of the pop girl band, Fifth Harmony before they disbanded.
One fan, clearly super excited at the idea, went on to share a series of pictures of singers like Ciara, Tinashe and Keke Palmer. Alongside they wrote – . “Can we discuss this in a cover interview??” to which another fan replied with a picture of Rihanna and wrote, “Oh this would be sickening.” Normani and Rihanna? Boy, would that be one amazing collab!!
Fans couldn’t stop, they went on to suggest Normani with “Chloe x halle, victoria monét, bree runway, tinashe, dua lipa,” while another suggested the popular K-pop girl group LOONA. One other interesting collaboration they suggested was with the Brazilian singer Iza, “THIS GIRL HER NAME IS @IzaReal a brazilian queen,” they wrote.
Amidst the collab frenzy, there were few like this one fan who was just happy that the singer had confirmed the album. “We been waiting on you to say “album” for so long idk what to do with myself.”, the fan wrote. Normani sure has fans awaiting her music on their toes!
The Long Wait
Phew! It HAS indeed been a long wait for the fans since they listened to new music from Normani. That is one thing we have noted after this episode. Although the singer has released several singles, their release has been widely spaced out. ‘Diamonds’ was her latest single in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion which released in January last year.
In 2019, Normani released two singles, ‘Motivation’ and ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ with Sam Smith. Her only project that comes close to an album is her debut EP from 2018, ‘Normani x Calvin Harris’.
