Trevor Daniel Sees His Debut Hit ‘Falling’ Claim the No. 1 Spot

Trevor Daniel has been enjoying his time under the spotlight. And a lot of that credit goes to his remixed version of ‘Past Life’ featuring Selena Gomez. And yet, Daniel has but one more reason to celebrate. The young star’s debut hit, ‘Falling’ just rose to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Pop Songs radio airplay chart.

Now, just for some context, the Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays, across a spectrum of over 160 mainstream top 40 stations. ‘Falling,’ which debuted in January, has finally claimed the throne at the No. 1 spot after a whopping 28 week climb.

Interestingly, ‘Falling’ is the first Pop Songs No. 1 on Interscope by a solo male and no accompanying artists since 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” ruled for four weeks in April 2003. And that’s an impressive feat considering that Trevor Daniel is a newbie to the industry. The young star just released his debut album, ‘Nicotine’ bang in the middle of the global coronavirus pandemic. The 10-track album features both bangers, ‘Past Life’ and ‘Falling’.

During the latter’s climb on the charts, it was also doing the rounds on Tik Tok and ultimately that’s what put Trevor Daniel on the map.  And just a few months later, to be able to score a collaboration with a star like Gomez is quite impressive.

The duo recently released their music video for ‘Past Life‘ which held some stunning visuals and mind-boggling camera work. And with this, it may appear that their chapter of this story has finished, but we can never say for sure. Before Daniel returns to his studio to create more music, he can certainly take a little more time to bathe under this spotlight. After all, he deserves it.
