Angelina Jolie is about to undergo a significant life change. The Oscar-winning actress is planning to relocate overseas when her twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026. She must stay in Los Angeles because of custody agreements with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. She is getting ready to sell her famous Los Angeles house and embrace a life characterized by privacy, family unity, and global roots—possibly rooted in Cambodia—as custody limitations shortly come to an end. This move toward calm seems appropriate and well-earned after years of publicity and legal battle.

Curtain on Custody Constraints, Home Up for Sale

Jolie is getting ready to sell her Los Feliz residence, the famous Cecil B. DeMille mansion she paid $24.5 million for in 2017, marking the beginning of her next chapter. The expansive Beaux-Arts property has been meticulously restored over the course of six years and has ten bathrooms, six bedrooms, a pool house, a studio, rose gardens, and expansive views of Los Angeles.

Before advertising the property, Jolie will make a few small improvements, according to sources. She has stayed in the house up to this point in order to fulfill the conditions of her divorce decree. She is said to be relieved and excited to regain her freedom now that the end is near. According to a source, 'she intends to move as soon as Knox and Viv become 18.'

The actor has long dreamed of a more subdued life, one that is based on family, privacy, and humanitarianism, in addition to the physical motion. She stated in interviews that Los Angeles 'can be … not what I grew up with' and that she would like to travel to Cambodia more often, a country that has great personal meaning for her.

Cambodia Calling & Global Roots

Jolie is considering where to live rather than just selling a house. Several sources claim that she is thinking of going to Cambodia, where she has done a lot of humanitarian work and where her oldest son, Maddox, was adopted, even if exact locations have not been confirmed. A more nomadic and purpose-driven existence is shown by her desire to keep traveling to see family all over the world.

Jolie's decision coincides with a larger trend of celebrities looking to relocate outside of the United States, some of whom are claiming political dissatisfaction following the 2024 election. Among the celebrities making comparable decisions are Ellen DeGeneres, who settled in the United Kingdom, and Rosie O'Donnell, who is currently in Ireland.

Regarding her career, Jolie will once again work with 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' director Doug Liman on his upcoming spy thriller, 'The Initiative.'
