Diane Lane returns to the screen in a powerful, dramatic role with 'Anniversary,' a family thriller that explores tension, ideology, and the unravelling of personal relationships.

In an exclusive first look from PEOPLE, the 'Anniversary' trailer introduces Lane as Ellen, a mother celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband, played by Kyle Chandler. Their celebration takes a sharp turn when their son Josh, portrayed by Dylan O’Brien, introduces his new girlfriend Liz (Phoebe Dynevor) to the family for the first time.

Suspicion grows quickly. Josh’s younger sister, played by McKenna Grace, is immediately uneasy around Liz, and Ellen realises she once taught Liz in college. Ellen remembers Liz as someone with extreme beliefs — a fact that intensifies her concern about her son's new relationship. Although her husband tries to reassure her that people evolve, Ellen remains deeply sceptical.

Lane expressed her pride in the project, calling 'Anniversary' a powerful and timely story that reflects national divisions through the story of one household. She applauded director Jan Komasa’s vision, noting how he brings the script — co-written with Lori Rosene-Gambino — to life with authenticity and purpose.

'Anniversary' is directed by acclaimed Polish filmmaker Jan Komasa, known for 'Corpus Christi' and 'The Hater'. The film arrives in theatres on 29th October.
