A man who disrupted the 'Wicked: For Good' red carpet premiere in Singapore by rushing at Ariana Grande has been jailed for causing a public nuisance.

The incident happened on 13th November at Universal Studios Singapore, where the man vaulted over a barricade, ran toward Grande, grabbed her, and began jumping excitedly. Ariana Grande appeared stunned as the situation unfolded, and actress Cynthia Erivo quickly stepped in to shield her, pushing the intruder away before security removed him.

Who is The Person Who Disrupted Ariana Grande?

The individual was identified as Australian prankster Johnson Wen, known online as "pyjamamann." Shortly after the event, Wen posted footage of the encounter on Instagram, thanking Ariana Grande in a playful tone for the opportunity to join her on the yellow carpet.

The Punishment

Following the 'Wicked' premiere incident, he was charged in Singapore for public nuisance, a violation that carries a potential fine of up to S$2,000 (£1,168). He ultimately pleaded guilty to creating a commotion and disturbing the public and was sentenced to nine days in jail, according to Channel News Asia.

During the hearing, prosecutors argued that Wen repeatedly engages in such behaviour and shows little remorse, describing him as a serial intruder. Wen told the court he would not repeat his actions. District Judge Christopher Goh noted that Wen's previous conduct, along with a social media post boasting about being "free" after his arrest, reflected a lack of accountability—factors that contributed to his jail sentence.

'Wicked: For Good' hits cinemas on 21st November.
