Nintendo and Sony Pictures have released the first official images from the highly anticipated live-action 'Legend of Zelda' movie, offering fans their initial glimpse of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. The studios confirmed on 17th November that production on the film is officially underway.

Directed by Wes Ball—recognised for the 'Maze Runner' series and 2024's 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes'—the adaptation brings the beloved video game franchise, which debuted in 1986, to life on the big screen.

Bragason and Ainsworth, whose casting was announced in July 2025, headline the film's ensemble. Bragason's recent credits include 'The Radleys' (2024), along with roles in 'Renegade Nell' and 'King & Conqueror.' Ainsworth is well known for voicing the lead character in Disney's 2022 live-action 'Pinocchio' and for his performance in Netflix's 'The Haunting of Bly Manor.'
Nintendo's move into larger-scale filmmaking continues following the blockbuster success of 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' in 2023.
