One of the most heartbreaking moments in 'Avatar: The Way of Water' came when Mick Scoresby (Brendan Cowell) and his crew hunted down a mother Tulkun for the valuable substance known as Amrita. The sequence escalated into a brutal clash, with Quaritch (Stephen Lang) using Payakan, the mighty Tulkun bonded to Jake Sully's son, as bait to lure Jake (Sam Worthington), Neytiri, and the Metkayina clan into battle. The fight ended with Scoresby losing an arm to Payakan's fury, but the ruthless hunter is far from finished. In 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' Scoresby is set to return to the seas, this time fueled by revenge.

Scoresby was introduced in 'The Way of Water' as a notorious Tulkun hunter who had killed countless creatures, including members of Payakan's family. His maiming felt like poetic justice, yet actor Brendan Cowell revealed that the character’s story is far from over.

According to him, Scoresby is likely to use his loss as motivation and even a twisted form of strength. Unlike his carefree, money-driven persona in the previous film, this time in 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' the hunter is not after fortune or thrills—his motives are darker, personal, and far more destructive.

In the world of 'Avatar,' Amrita is an immensely valuable anti-ageing substance harvested from Tulkuns' brains, sold for astronomical sums on Earth. With Quaritch once again bringing Scoresby into the conflict, the hunter's vendetta against the ocean clans is expected to be more violent than ever. Cowell explained that Scoresby sees himself as fighting against a deep, generational hatred, and this time the battle is personal.

With the Metkayina clan now their permanent home, the conflict will once again draw them into perilous waters. A new Fire Clan, unlike any tribe seen before, will make its debut, with early hints suggesting an uneasy alliance between Quaritch and this fearsome group. With Scoresby returning to the ocean for revenge, the battle will grow even more complicated.
