Billie Eilish has released the official trailer for her upcoming concert film 'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour,' a visually ambitious project directed by James Cameron. The singer first announced the film during the final stop of her tour in San Francisco, confirming that the 3D feature will hit cinemas on 20th March.

'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour' Trailer

The trailer opens with Eilish reacting in disbelief as she spots groups of fans camping outside the venue in hopes of securing the best view. She taps on the window to greet them, and the crowd erupts with excitement. The preview then moves between high-energy performance footage and behind-the-scenes moments, including an appearance from Cameron. The director explains that no concert movie has been filmed at this scale before and that the team is using groundbreaking technology designed specifically for the project.

The trailer also includes an emotional moment in which Eilish acknowledges that she is performing her first show without her brother and close creative partner, Finneas.

Billie Eilish's Emotions on 'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour'

On Instagram, Eilish shared that this tour has been one of her all-time favourites and said that collaborating with Cameron on the film has felt like a dream realised. She told fans she cannot wait for them to experience the final product.

Eilish initially teased the secret project during a sold-out show in Manchester earlier this year. She hinted to the audience that the numerous cameras in the venue were part of something major she was creating with Cameron and revealed that the film would be in 3D. She let the crowd know that they were part of something special and joked that she would likely be wearing the same outfit for several performances because of the filming schedule.

Controversies Around 'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour'

'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour' has produced no shortage of headlines. Recently, Eilish sparked attention after publicly criticising Elon Musk for failing to use his wealth to support global causes. Following that moment, she announced an $11.5 million (£8.7 million) donation from her tour earnings to charities focused on food equity and the climate crisis.

The tour has also seen intense moments with fans, including an incident in Miami where a concertgoer attempted to pull Eilish into the crowd. Security removed and banned the individual, and another fan who stepped in to help was later thanked with free merchandise and complimentary tickets.

Eilish's performances continue to draw widespread acclaim. Her recent shows in London earned five-star reviews, with critics praising her evolution as both a performer and songwriter. Reviewers noted that she consistently elevates her craft and connects more deeply with audiences, suggesting that her next return to the UK will likely arrive with an even more spectacular show.
