A Familiar Face with a New Chapter
Christina Applegate has been a part of our screens since childhood, from her early roles to her breakout as Kelly Bundy in the iconic sitcom 'Married…with Children,' and later forays into film and television that cemented her reputation as a versatile actress. With roles in 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead,' 'Anchorman,' 'The Sweetest Thing,' and the popular series 'Dead to Me,' she has demonstrated her ability to be both tragic and comedic.
Beyond the red carpet and the giggles, however, Applegate has had significant health and emotional issues, most notably her past struggle with breast cancer and her 2021 Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. In this new memoir, she's opening up about all of it.

The Memoir Behind the Headlines
The book, titled 'You With the Sad Eyes: A Memoir,' is currently available for pre-order and will be published by Little, Brown & Company on 3rd March, 2026. The book's inspiration was quite personal, according to Applegate, who states, "I wrote this because I truly believe that books can make people feel less alone." She added that although the book covers grief, health issues, pain and dark times, it will not be a "big violin scratching for my life" but instead "real me…lots to say."
Her background in the glam-and-grunge environment of Laurel Canyon, her ascent to fame in entertainment, her public victories, and her personal struggles—including assault, body dysmorphia, desertion, abuse, and insecurities—are all covered in the novel.

What This Means Personally and Professionally
When Applegate decided to write the memoir, her life was going through a major transition. She claims that receiving an MS diagnosis made her "slow down," which gave her the opportunity to think carefully about what had happened to her and what really mattered to her at this point in her life. She intends to incorporate her humour, genuineness, and fortitude into the book, striking a balance between joy and sorrow, laughter and suffering.
Although fans are familiar with her daring performances and witty banter, her biography promises to reveal the lady who has been enduring life's ups and downs with a purpose. In her own words, she hopes that by sharing her story honestly, others won’t feel as alone in their own journeys.
