While moderating a Q&A for the film's Los Angeles screening with Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Aidan Delbis, Johnson joked about Lanthimos' repeated collaborations with Stone, teasing, "Are you aware that there are other actresses?" She made the comment while expressing her respect for 'Bugonia' and her wish to collaborate with Lanthimos on further projects in the future.

On Her Appearance and 'Bugonia' Screening

Johnson graced the Bugonia Q&A event in a stunning winter ensemble, featuring a long black Valentino coat paired with a matching midi skirt, accented with feather trims and shearling cuffs. As she chaired the conversation, the actress, who also appears in Valentino's Cruise 2026 campaign, looked effortlessly stylish. She spoke during the event about how enthralled she was with the movie, claiming to have seen it twice in a single day.

An English-language adaptation of the 2003 South Korean film 'Save the Green Planet!,' the science fiction thriller centers on Stone's character, a kidnapped CEO who is thought to be extraterrestrial. During the Bugonia Q&A, Dakota Johnson didn't hold back—with a grin, she teased director Yorgos Lanthimos about his frequent collaborations with Emma Stone. "Are you aware that there are other actresses, that are really talented, maybe even very close by?" she quipped, drawing laughter from the audience. Stone, playing along, looked at Lanthimos and said, "What! No, right?" Johnson then nudged her: "No, go for it, do your pitch, work on your pitch." She admitted mischievously, "I already did and it didn't work, remember? You were there."

She also complimented Stone's daring new style in 'Bugonia,' asking out loud, "Who on Earth looks so beautiful with a shaved head covered in blood?" to which Stone responded jokingly, "You're flirting." Later, when Johnson gently announced, "I regret doing this. I'll never do it again…Is there anything you guys would like to say before this terrible interview is over?" Lanthimos cheekily replied, "I think you're the third best moderator that we've had," to which Johnson deadpanned, "That's huge. I'll come on the road."
