Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush unveiled 'Hexed,' a brand-new original film that will enchant viewers in the fall of 2026, during the thrilling Destination D23 conference in Orlando, Florida. With its striking concept art, eye-catching logo, and promise of heart, humour, and magic, the announcement reaffirms Disney's timeless talent for producing stories that appeal to audiences of all ages.

A Heartfelt Tale of Discovery

The story of 'Hexed' is around an awkward adolescent boy and his extremely organized mother, whose lives are completely upended when they learn that the boy's peculiarities are actually magical abilities. This revelation blends humorous charm with emotional relevance, bringing them into a secret world of wizardry and wonder.

The movie celebrates the beauty of individuality and the ties that bind families together, according to Jared Bush, who called it a "magical mix of humor, awe, and heartfelt moments." In fact, Hexed's initial reception compared it to Encanto's emotional depth combined with Onward's whimsical imagination.

Two seasoned Disney animators, Jason Hand (who co-directed 'Moana 2') and Josie Trinidad (who worked on 'Zootopia+'), are directing 'Hexed.' Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones and Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Strange World) are producing the film. The presentation gave attendees a preview of the film's visual aesthetic, which combines vivid colors with imaginative imagination, by showing them early concept drawings and an animated logo. The 64th feature film from Walt Disney Animation Studios will be titled 'Hexed.'

Launching Into Theaters November 2026

'Hexed' will make its theatrical debut in November 2026, Disney confirmed. Disney's dedication to provide unique stories alongside cherished franchises is further reinforced by the titles' placement alongside other well-known ones, such as 'Zootopia 2' in 2025 and 'Frozen 3' in 2027.
