Gwyneth Paltrow Had No Idea Timothée Chalamet Was Dating Kylie Jenner Until After Filming Started

Gwyneth Paltrow recently acknowledged in an open interview that she was unaware that Timothée Chalamet, her co-star in 'Marty Supreme,' was seeing Kylie Jenner. Paltrow was taken aback when Chalamet casually brought up the fact that his girlfriend had kids during costume fittings for their next movie. Paltrow later found out that the woman was Jenner. Her response highlights how, even among coworkers who work closely together, private celebrity relationships can go unnoticed.

Chalamet, 29, and Paltrow, 53, co-star in Josh Safdie's upcoming sports drama 'Marty Supreme,' which is set in the 1950s. She portrays Kay Stone, an actress who becomes involved with Chalamet’s ping-pong prodigy character, Marty Mauser. She asked him whether he had a partner during their first trial meeting, and he said that he did, adding that she was already a parent.

Paltrow claimed to have loved the decision, calling it "punk rock," and finding it "cool" for a young man to date a woman with children. She found out later that the individual was Kylie Jenner, a mother of two. She joked that a lot of people make fun of her for "not knowing anything," highlighting how disconnected she occasionally feels from pop culture.

The Couple's History and Public Moments

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner have been romantically linked together since around April 2023. The reality actress and beauty mogul Jenner has two children from her previous relationship with Travis Scott: a son named Aire (born 2022), and a girl named Stormi (born 2018). The couple has occasionally been in public, such as at athletic events and festivals, but they usually keep their relationship private. Given that 'Marty Supreme' is known for its intimate content, there have been rumours that Jenner is uncomfortable with Chalamet filming graphic scenes.

Returning to the Screen: 'Marty Supreme' and Intimate Scenes

After years away from leading parts, Paltrow makes a significant comeback to the movie industry with her upcoming 'Marty Supreme.' The movie will be released on 25th December, after having its "secret screening" premiere at the 2025 New York Film Festival few days back. Paltrow acknowledged that there are a number of intimate scenes in the movie between her and Chalamet that involve "a lot of rolling around," but she believes the outcome is handled tastefully and advances the plot.

She also discussed her unease with having an intimacy coordinator, stating that she preferred the previous conventions of just shooting the moment because she occasionally felt "stifled" by the instructions. Paltrow's amazement at Chalamet's personal life lends an unexpected human element to the film's growing hype.
