HAIM Confirm Studio Session With Stevie Nicks and Tease Glastonbury Surprise

HAIM have finally opened up about their long-rumoured collaboration with Stevie Nicks, confirming that a song with the Fleetwood Mac icon has indeed been recorded. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the trio spoke about their admiration for Nicks and offered a few tantalising details about the track.

During the fan Q&A segment, the sisters revealed that they had worked with Nicks in the studio, though they remained tight-lipped about a release date. Alana described the music legend as “the greatest human being on this planet”, while Danielle added that the track they worked on together “is really good”.

However, fans shouldn’t expect the collaboration to appear on HAIM’s upcoming album ‘I Quit’. Alana clarified that the song was created “for something else”, though she didn’t elaborate. Este playfully apologised for the secrecy, while Andy Cohen joked it might be for a Smurfs movie — a suggestion that was quickly shut down with laughter from the band.

Speculation around a HAIM–Nicks collaboration has circulated for years, especially given the sisters’ open admiration for the ‘Edge of Seventeen’ singer. Back in 2018, they joined Nicks on stage for a performance of ‘Rhiannon’ during Fleetwood Mac’s MusiCares tribute. The band have often credited her as a major influence on their sound.

Later in the interview, HAIM turned to their new album ‘I Quit’, highlighting the single ‘Relationships’. Danielle explained that the song had been in the works for years and was originally played to people after they returned from an Australian tour, though it wasn’t immediately understood or embraced. Despite that, they remained confident in its potential. Alana revealed that they held onto the track for seven years, believing in its uniqueness.

Adding to the buzz around the band, fans have begun speculating that HAIM could be playing a secret set at Glastonbury this weekend. A mysterious act named ‘Patchwork’ is listed on the Pyramid Stage schedule for Saturday, and many believe it could be the trio performing under an alias.

The theory has only gained traction due to a fan’s suggestion that the name ‘Patchwork’ might reference both a 2015 film about three young women — mirroring the HAIM sisters — and a novel written by someone named Sylvia Haim. When asked about the rumours during an appearance on BBC Radio 2, the band hinted that they “shall be in the area”, and named the Park Stage as their favourite spot at the festival.

HAIM’s ‘I Quit’ tour kicks off this September, but with hints of a surprise Glastonbury appearance and a Stevie Nicks collaboration on the horizon, fans already have plenty to look forward to.
