Country music artist Keith Urban opened out on the emotional toll that tours had put on him in a preview of his upcoming TV show, just weeks before his split from Nicole Kidman was made public. During extended periods away from home, he talked about experiencing feelings of loneliness, tiredness, and introspection. His comments now reveal the strains he endured while his marriage was subtly collapsing.

Keith Urban provides an unfiltered glimpse of life behind the scenes in the first episode of his new CBS/Paramount+ series 'The Road,' and it's not a glamorous one. He told contestants about being "sick as a dog" when he woke up in a tour bus at 3:30 AM. in isolated places and found it difficult to perform in spite of his loneliness and exhaustion. He said that he would ask himself, "Why am I doing this?" during those times. 

He presented music as his justification, the sole explanation for enduring such demanding periods. Although sources claim the couple had been living apart for some time, those remarks were captured on camera months before his separation from Nicole Kidman was made public on 29th September.

After being married in 2006, Keith and Nicole share two daughters: Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose. According to insiders, their relationship was stressed by the demands of their jobs and time apart, since her career required her to move between projects while his kept him traveling. 
Rumours related to relationship issues had already surfaced after Urban allegedly left a Zoom interview when questioned about sequences Nicole had filmed for a movie. Some insiders believe his move to his own place earlier in the year was a turning point.
