Kevin Parker gave fans an unexpected treat during a weekend stop in Barcelona, where he debuted a brand-new Tame Impala track during a surprise DJ set.
The Australian artist made an unannounced appearance at Primavera Sound on 6th June, before heading to Nitsa Club the next evening for a follow-up DJ set. It was during this set that he introduced what appears to be a taste of the next Tame Impala album – their first since 2020’s ‘The Slow Rush’.
Addressing the crowd before dropping the track, Parker asked whether they were ready to hear a new song. He reportedly told them they would be the very first to experience it, joking that there would be no turning back once it played.
The unreleased track features a pulsing electro-house beat, layered with atmospheric synths, percussive elements, and Parker’s signature dreamy vocals. Fan-shot footage of the moment has since surfaced online.

Tame Impala's most recent release was their feature on ‘Neverender’ by Justice, which appeared on the French duo’s April 2024 album ‘Hyperdrama’. Earlier this year, Parker also joined Dua Lipa onstage in Sydney for a rendition of Tame Impala’s ‘The Less I Know The Better’. The pair had previously worked together on Lipa’s chart-topping album ‘Radical Optimism’, where Parker contributed as a lead producer.

He also made a guest appearance during Lipa’s headline performance at Glastonbury 2024. Reflecting on the experience, he said it turned out to be far more intense than he had anticipated, adding that it was especially meaningful to witness Lipa achieving a childhood dream. He expressed that he simply felt fortunate to be part of such a significant moment.
In 2023, Parker sold the rights to his entire music catalogue—past and future—to Sony Music Publishing, covering both his solo work and releases under the Tame Impala name.
