Madonna is back to the headlines once more: she has officially re-signed with Warner Records, the label that started her career in 1982, and she is hinting at a follow-up to her iconic 2005 album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor.' In recent days, she has hinted that Confessions Part 2 will be released in 2026, with dance-floor energy, music, and longtime collaborator Stuart Price on board.

This is a full-circle moment for Madonna, as she reconnects with the label that started it all and welcomes a new chapter in her musical career.

The 67-year-old pop singer has declared her intention to rejoin Warner Records, the label that signed her in 1982. Being "reunited" with Warner, in her own words, feels like going home. She talked about how her life changed when she signed that agreement after struggling as an artist in New York and putting out only three singles. Warner's co-chairmen, Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck, praised her in the announcement, stating that she is "not simply an artist–she's the template, the rule-breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut."

"Back to music, Back to the dance floor, Back to where it all began!" she also said on Instagram.

Confessions Part 2—What We Know So Far

Madonna has hinted at a follow-up to her Grammy-winning album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor,' which won Best Electronic/Dance Album. 'Confessions on a Dance Floor—Part 2' is the tentative title of the new album, which is anticipated to be released in 2026. Stuart Price, the producer, songwriter, and DJ who helped create the original Confessions, is joining her again.

The project was first alluded to by Madonna in February when she wrote on Instagram that it was "my Valentine's Day present to all my fans…Confessions Part 2."

Her Recent Projects & The Road Ahead

Madonna's most recent studio album prior to this revelation was 'Madame X' (2019), which was followed by 'Veronica Electronica' in July 2025. She revealed in late 2024 that creating songs and making music had become "medicine for my soul" and that she didn't require anyone's approval to do it.

The music front is obviously active despite the apparent stalling of her movie; Madonna's next big step is this new agreement with Warner and the promise of Confessions Part 2. Not only is her return to Warner symbolic, but it also opens the door for new music, a renewed collaboration with Price, and perhaps even some of her daring artistic risks.
