Michael B. Jordan Reunites with 'Sinners' Cast for Gotham Ensemble Tribute

Michael B. Jordan reunited with his 'Sinners' cast at the 2025 Gotham Film Awards, where the blockbuster thriller earned the ceremony’s prestigious Ensemble Tribute Award.

Jordan, 38, appeared at the New York City event recently alongside director Ryan Coogler and a large group of his castmates from the hit vampire drama. Together, they accepted the honour recognising the film's standout group performance.

During the ceremony, Michael B. Jordan, Jayme Lawson and Delroy Lindo represented the ensemble onstage. Lindo used the moment to acknowledge Coogler's leadership, noting that the filmmaker brings an independent spirit and unwavering dedication to his vision regardless of a project's scale. Hailee Steinfeld, one of the film's central stars, was unable to attend.

The group posed together backstage, including Jordan, Lindo, Lawson, Miles Caton, Yao, Li Jun Li, Omar Benson Miller, Lola Kirke and casting director Francine Maisler, celebrating one of the night’s top recognitions.

Another major Gotham win went to Wunmi Mosaku, 39, who took home the Outstanding Supporting Performance Award. She prevailed over a competitive group of nominees that included Benicio Del Toro, Jacob Elordi, Indya Moore, Adam Sandler, Andrew Scott, Alexander Skarsgård, Stellan Skarsgård, Teyana Taylor and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

When the Ensemble Tribute was first announced, Gotham Film & Media Institute executive Jeffrey Sharp praised the cast for delivering intense, immersive performances anchored by Michael B. Jordan's dual roles. He credited each actor with bringing depth and authenticity to the film's unpredictable story, and shared excitement that Coogler would present the tribute to the cast at the awards.

About 'Sinners'

'Sinners,' which debuted in theatres in April, captivated audiences with its mix of Southern Gothic horror and historical drama. The story follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack—both played by Michael B. Jordan—who return to their Mississippi hometown in 1932 with plans to open a nightclub for Black residents. Their dream quickly derails, however, when they come face-to-face with a vampire terrorising the region.

The Gotham Awards' Ensemble Tribute has been a significant marker heading into awards season since 2005, having previously honoured films such as 'Moonlight,' 'The Hurt Locker,' and 'The Favourite.'
