Miley Cyrus is finally sharing her thoughts on her engagement to musician Maxx Morando—and revealing the part of this new chapter that has genuinely surprised her.
Shortly after the engagement news became public, the 33-year-old singer spoke with PEOPLE while promoting 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' the upcoming film that features her track 'Dream as One' on its soundtrack.

Cyrus explained that what has truly impressed her about getting engaged is how she and Morando have been able to protect their privacy. She said that maintaining a small, intimate approach to their relationship has felt rare and empowering, especially because it has allowed her to choose what she shares publicly. She also noted that stepping into her mid-thirties has made her more selective and protective of her personal life.

She had been seen wearing the same ring weeks earlier, with sightings beginning in mid-November. The piece even appeared in photos from her 33rd birthday celebration on 23rd November.

A representative for jewellery designer Jacquie Aiche confirmed that Aiche created Miley Cyrus' custom ring—a cushion-cut stone set on a bold 14-karat yellow-gold band. Industry experts estimate the piece could be valued at up to $450,000.
Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando first sparked dating rumours back in December 2021 after being photographed together backstage during Miley's New Year's Eve Party in Miami. By April 2022, they appeared to confirm their romance when they were spotted sharing a kiss in West Hollywood. In a 2023 British Vogue cover story, Cyrus revealed that their first meeting happened on a blind date—at least for her. She admitted she entered the date with an open mindset, knowing she could simply leave if it wasn't a match.
