Miley Cyrus recently shared that Madonna had been fully on board to appear in a bold and unconventional concept for the music video to her track ‘4×4’. Speaking on the ‘Every Single Album’ podcast, Cyrus explained that the Queen of Pop had agreed to take part in a mud wrestling scene with Miranda Kerr—until the idea was ultimately blocked by her label, RCA.
The proposed video was meant to accompany ‘4×4’, a track from Cyrus’s 2013 album ‘Bangerz’, and she had envisioned a star-studded spectacle. She recalled having an impressive line-up in place, including Nelly, Madonna, and Miranda Cosgrove. Reflecting on the plan, she pointed out that this concept predated Taylor Swift’s famous squad era, noting that she herself had a circle of high-profile friends first.
She went on to describe the concept in more detail, saying her vision included “supermodels, Victoria’s Secret angels, and pop icons” gathering at her father’s farm. The idea was for them to jump into the back of 4x4s, engage in mud wrestling, and perform doughnuts in the fields.
In another recent incident, Cyrus was reportedly heckled during a screening of her new film ‘Something Beautiful’, when fans expressed disappointment that there wouldn’t be a live performance. In response, she calmed the crowd by singing an impromptu a cappella version of her 2009 hit ‘The Climb’.
Meanwhile, Madonna has confirmed the upcoming release of ‘Veronica Electronica’, a long-rumoured project originally intended as a companion album to 1998’s ‘Ray Of Light’. The album, which features rare mixes and unreleased material, is due out on 25 July. Pre-orders are already available.
New Music Hints and Netflix Biopic in the Works
She has also hinted at new music possibly arriving by the end of the year. Last October, she revealed she had reunited with producer Stuart Price, and in February, she suggested the new material might serve as a sequel to ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’.
Reports have also emerged suggesting Madonna is collaborating with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy on a potential limited series for Netflix, based on her life.
