Miley Cyrus surprised fans with an unexpected performance of her new songs ‘Easy Lover’ and ‘Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved’ at a New York nightclub event. The surprise appearance happened on 30th May, during the ‘Something Beautiful Ball’ event, which was hosted by DJ Jon Ali and Olive at Brooklyn’s 3 Dollar Bill nightclub.

Cyrus reportedly arrived at around 12:45am and addressed the crowd with a heartfelt speech, expressing her appreciation for the queer community and her supporters. She said that they meant more to her than just being fans or an audience, describing them as a deep source of inspiration. She added that her music would not exist in its current form without the influence of g*y culture.

After her speech, she stepped into the DJ booth to perform both songs from her newest album, Something Beautiful. This surprise set came just days after a private performance at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on 27th May. That earlier event was framed as a listening session and featured a select group of fans whom Cyrus had invited herself.

Cyrus Teases Experimental Follow-Up to ‘Something Beautiful’

During the LA event, Cyrus shared that 'Something Beautiful' was merely a preview of what’s to come, hinting that her next album would be highly experimental. She also serves as an executive producer on the current record, alongside Shawn Everett, known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. She had previously mentioned that the album draws bold inspiration from Pink Floyd’s The Wall, though with a more glamorous, pop culture-infused aesthetic.
