A biopic detailing the decades-long relationship between Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne remains in active development, despite the recent passing of the iconic rocker. According to a representative from Polygram Entertainment, the film is currently in discussions with a potential director, with an official announcement expected soon, as reported by Variety.

Originally announced in 2020, the film is a collaboration between Sony Pictures, Osbourne Media, and Polygram Entertainment. The story will chronicle the couple’s complex relationship, which began in the early 1980s. Ozzy and Sharon married in 1982 and went on to have three children together: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne.

More About the Biopic

The screenplay is being written by Lee Hall, best known for penning the Elton John biopic 'Rocketman'. Hall is still attached to the project, which will feature music from Ozzy Osbourne’s legendary solo career as well as his work as frontman of Black Sabbath. Sharon, alongside children Jack and Aimee, is set to serve as one of the film’s producers.

Polygram Entertainment, known for music-centric projects like 'The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart', 'The Velvet Underground', 'The Go-Go’s', and 'Beastie Boys Story', is spearheading the biopic with a focus on authenticity and emotional depth.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76. According to reports, the cause of death was an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction. His health had been a concern in recent years, particularly after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, a condition he only publicly revealed in 2020. He also underwent neck surgery following a serious fall in 2019.

In the days following his passing, his family, including Sharon and their children, held a private funeral procession in Birmingham, England, paying tribute to the music legend in his hometown. In a statement released to the press, the Osbourne family expressed profound grief and asked for privacy as they mourned their loss.
