Noah Schnapp is celebrating a deeply personal milestone as he reveals it's an "honor" to be the godfather of Millie Bobby Brown's baby girl. Since their early days on the popular Netflix series, the 'Stranger Things' star and Brown have bonded both on and off screen, frequently referring to each other as best friends and soulmates. Schnapp's most recent disclosure emphasizes the two actors' lasting relationship and trust as the show's final season draws near and Brown is just recovering from an injury.

From Childhood Co Stars to Family: A Special Honor for Noah Schnapp

Noah Schnapp, who is best known for his role as Will Byers on 'Stranger Things,' recently said how grateful he is to be Millie Bobby Brown's newborn girl's godfather. During an interview on The View, the 21-year-old actor discussed the role, calling it "such an honor" and thinking back to a long-ago pledge made between two friends who grew up together on the set of the popular Netflix series. Schnapp explained that this was something they joked about when they were "little kids," with Brown saying, "When I have a kid, you're definitely going to be the godfather to my kid."

In August 2025, Brown and her spouse, Jake Bongiovi, adopted their daughter, making that moment a reality. As he talked about how unique it is to watch Brown become a mother, Schnapp's joy in keeping that boyhood vow was evident. Since 'Stranger Things' debuted in 2016, fans have watched the two grow up together, and their off-screen connection has long been a highlight.

Brown and Schnapp have referred to each other as closest friends and close family over the years; their relationship has only grown stronger with time and shared experiences, from hard workdays on set to significant life events like Brown's marriage and her new role as a mother.

Deep Bonds and Shared Moments Beyond the Screen

The connection between Brown and Schnapp is often described as sibling‑like, with the pair sharing many candid moments in interviews and at promotional events. Brown's journey from a "wide-eyed, innocent young, goofy girl" to a mother and wife is "the greatest joy," according to Schnapp, who discussed Brown's transition to motherhood. Their bond is interwoven throughout the 'Stranger Things' journey and extends beyond their personal lives.

Both stars have repeatedly emphasized how close the cast has become over nearly a decade of working together. With the final season of 'Stranger Things' coming to an emotional close—a finale that Schnapp has admitted will be hard to watch and "devastating"—their off screen family ties provide comfort and continuity beyond the story on screen.

The two were scheduled to appear together on 'Good Morning America' recently to promote the last season, but Millie Bobby Brown had to cancel due to an arm injury sustained in a fall. Schnapp remained kind and encouraging despite the cancellation, demonstrating the strength of their relationship outside of work obligations.

Looking Ahead: Family, Finale, and Lasting Friendship

The ensemble is getting ready for an emotional farewell as 'Stranger Things' draws to a close with Volume II of Season 5 and the series finale scheduled to premiere around New Year's. Schnapp admitted in interviews that saying goodbye to the show and the tight‑knit cast—whom he considers family—will be bittersweet.

Being dubbed godfather has, for him, provided a significant new dimension to that common past. It serves as a reminder of how much these young performers mean to one another off-screen and how far they have come from their early days on set. As the final episodes approach and Brown settles into her new life as a mom, Schnapp's pride and affection shine through—not just as a co‑star, but as someone deeply woven into Brown's personal journey.
