'The White Lotus,' the critically acclaimed HBO anthology series, is once again packing its fancy bags, this time for France. The Emmy-winning drama will now travel to the sun-drenched French Riviera and the beautiful streets of Paris for its fourth season, following its spectacular success in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand. The opulent Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a classic symbol of Riviera glitz, is one of the leading candidates for the central resort location, and several publications claim that production might start by the end of this year.

Filming in Paris, meanwhile, will add a level of sophistication by contrasting the charm of the City of Light with the leisurely lifestyle by the sea. Fans can anticipate 'The White Lotus' to continue fusing mystery, luxury, a cast of nuanced, enduring characters, and scathing societal satire under the direction of creator Mike White.

A New Destination of Luxury and Secrets

The series' most European turn to date is represented by Season 4's French setting, which perfectly captures the sophistication of the Côte d'Azur and the extravagance of Parisian high society. It is anticipated that the production will feature famous settings, such as stately hotels, Mediterranean villas, and the city's roads of haute couture.

According to reports, the primary setting will be the French Riviera, namely the area surrounding Cap-Ferrat, which is renowned for its azure waves, celebrity clientele, and understated elegance, while Paris will feature in select episodes to expand the show's storyline beyond the typical resort confines.

Several sources have claimed that the show's crew is considering filming at upscale establishments like Le Lutetia and The Ritz Paris in order to preserve The White Lotus' distinctive ambiance of luxury and mystery. Fans are anxiously awaiting the next installment of decadence and deceit, which is currently anticipated to be released in late 2026 or early 2027.

What to Expect: Storyline, Cast, and Themes

Although HBO has not disclosed many plot points, show' creator Mike White has made hints that the French setting would delve into topics of art, class, and mainly romance among Europe's elite. Through the eyes of wealthy tourists and the employees who cater to them, 'The White Lotus' has explored privilege and hypocrisy in each of its seasons. After Season 1's Hawaiian paradise, Season 2's Sicilian drama, and Season 3's spiritual overtones of Thailand, Season 4 will add a uniquely French mix of tension and charm to the formula.

While the cast is mostly different from one season to another, there have been some returning characters, such as Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), Greg (Jon Gries), and Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), whose arcs have connected the show's otherwise standalone stories. The French-Canadian actor Charlotte LeBon, who portrayed Chloé in the previous season, is also rumoured by fans to make a comeback in Season 4, which would undoubtedly provide some humour and familiarity to the new French setting.

Though HBO has not confirmed the ensemble yet, audiences can expect a mix of new and returning faces, all drawn into another web of secrets, luxury, and darkly comic chaos.
