The 28-year-old pop star gathered the strength of thousands of fans in his sold-out gig during his performance in New York City (one of the 15 shows scheduled for his extended residency at Madison Square Garden) to sing a very special—and loud— "Happy Birthday" to his longtime friend James Corden. The first line of the song was then sung by Styles proudly into the microphone before he allowed his audience fill the arena with their voices. The Grammy winner yelled, "Friend points!" afterward. The day after the event, Corden, who turned 44, uploaded a video of the entire thing to Instagram.

On 2nd August, the moody music video for ‘Sign of the Times,’ which Harry Styles released in 2017 to launch his solo career, passed one billion views on YouTube.

The X Factor has shared the original, extended cut of Harry Styles' audition as a solo artist, a week after the show revealed how the boy band, 'One Direction' was put together. Although Styles' a cappella version of Stevie Wonder's ‘Isn't She Lovely’ was what was broadcast on television in 2010, Styles gave the judges his first performance of a Train song, 'Hey Soul Sister'. Styles' performance was interrupted mid-song by Simon Cowell, who instructed him to sing without a backing track.
