Swift wrote and directed the Cinderella-themed music video for the song, in which Dern plays the singer's stepmother and Haim plays the wicked stepsisters. The actor thanked Swift for inviting her "to join the party" when the video released and shared some images of her in the costume. “Thank you to my director @taylorswift13 for inviting me to join her party and celebrate her triumph,” Dern wrote on Twitter. Dita Von Teese, Par McGrath and Jack Antonoff, who worked with Swift on her most recent album, ‘Midnights,’ which has broken streaming records on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon, all make cameo appearances in the music video. This is the second song from ‘Midnights’ to get an accompanying music video, following ‘Anti-Hero’ last week.
