Billie Wins Big At the Grammys

The 2020 Grammys could be renamed “The EIlish Award Show” and no one would bat an eyelid.

The 18 year old singer just bagged 5 Grammys, and while she was in complete disbelief throughout the entire ceremony, is anyone really surprised? The singer’s 2019 smash hit “bad guy” bagged the Grammys for Song of the Year and Record of the Year beating out Khalid (nominated for “Talk”), Ariana Grande (nominated for “7 Rings”), Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X and more.

Her full length studio album went on to score two Grammys as well – one for “Album of the Year”, making her the youngest artist in Grammy history to win the award; the second being the Grammy for “Pop Vocal Album”.

f these weren’t proof enough that she is undoubtedly one of the biggest artists of the year, she also bagged the Grammy for “Best New Artist”, winning against fellow nominees Lil Nas X, Rosalia, Lizzo and Yola.

Her brother and trusted producer, Finneas O’ Connell also went on to win the Grammy for “Producer of the Year (Non-Classical)” for his work on Billie’s albums and solo projects including Selena Gomez’s stellar ballad “Lose You To Love Me”.

The singer also took the stage with her brother Finneas for a touching, resounding performance of her emotional and haunting single “when the party’s over”. The 18 year old promised us all that the performance was going to be “very her” but wouldn’t be over the top, and she has delivered
