In late 2020, The Boss collaborated with the Jack Antonoff-led band on the song. A stripped-down rendition of the song was recorded that December by the two New Jersey acts on the roof of Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
According to Spin, Bleachers surprised the audience at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall during the most recent performance of their 2022 North American tour by requesting Springsteen to join them once more for ‘Chinatown.’

Bleachers also included a tribute to their hometown by singing Tom Waits’ song ‘Jersey Girl’ in last night’s performance (via Setlist.FM).
The National’s ‘Bloodbuzz Ohio’ was covered by Lucy Dacus and Clairo during Bleachers’ performance on 23rd July at the Newport Folk Festival.
Bruce Springsteen, recently shocked the Glastonbury 2022 audience by making a special appearance during Paul McCartney’s headlining performance.
Next year, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will tour the US and the UK for the first time since 2017.
