Her fourth album, which was made public on 15th July, does not contain the duo’s 2021 joint effort, ‘Rumors.’ The two still worked together in various ways, as Lizzo said in her explanation of making of the song. ‘I Love You B***h’ came from a tweet and is not the same as ‘Truth Hurts,’ on the The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music and hence asked twitter not to come after her for royalties.

Lizzo said that, shortly after ‘Rumours’ with Cardi B dropped, Cardi tweeted that she wanted to hear a love song from her next, and she thought that if she ever made a love song, ‘I love you, b***h’ would be a perfect fit.

Chris Martin pleasantly surprised Lizzo at the same interview, and she talked about how his band’s breakthrough smash, ‘Yellow,’ influenced her upcoming song, ‘Coldplay.’

The new album received a four-star rating from NME, who also noted that the ‘joyful superstar uplifts with self-assured, self-empowering bops.’
