New Music From Finneas, ‘Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa,’ Features a Piece of Gus Van Sant Art

Check out FINNEAS’s brand-new song and music video for ‘Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa’ below, accompanied by unique Gus Van Sant artwork.

The song comes after the singer and producer’s most recent track ‘Naked’ and debut solo album, ‘Optimist.’  Additionally, he also shared the song ‘Nobody Like U,’ which was written by Finneas and his sister Billie Eilish for the new Pixar film, ‘Turning Red’ and was performed by the fictional boy band ‘4*Town’.

The song ‘Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa’ is accompanied by a music video that includes scenes from Eilish’s recent headline tour of Europe as well as artwork by renowned director Gus Van Sant.

Revealing that the artwork is a painting based on Leonardo DaVinci’s legendary Mona Lisa and gifted to Finneas by Van Sant, he wrote on Instagram: “The artwork is a painting by the incredible Gus Van Sant that he gave me before he even knew I had a song named after the Mona Lisa.

“So cool and such an honour to have this piece of art as the cover for my song.”

Reviewing Finneas’ debut solo album ‘Optimist’ upon its release last year, NME said: “He made his name producing and writing for his megastar sister Billie Eilish, and now it’s Finneas’ turn to step into the spotlight. ‘Optimist’ has been a long time coming – it follows a whopping 23 singles released since 2016 – and fully justifies why he’s become the industry’s producer du jour.”

Earlier this year, Finneas and Eilish met US Vice President, Joe Biden at the White House. Following their backing of Biden during the 2020 US election, the musical siblings were asked to meet the US President, together with their parents Maggie and Patrick.
