Denzel Curry’s New Track ‘HOODLUMZ’ Featuring A$AP Rocky

Denzel Curry has dropped a brand-new track, ‘HOODLUMZ’, featuring A$AP Rocky, in advance of his latest record, ‘King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2’, which is out today.
‘HOODLUMZ’ marks the first collaboration between Denzel Curry and A$AP Rocky. The track also features rapper PlayThatBoiZay, with the trio delivering verses over a heavy, skeletal Southern hip-hop beat. In his verse, A$AP Rocky references Playboi Carti’s track ‘R.I.P.’ and gives a nod to a 1998 “blonde lace” Eminem.

‘HOODLUMZ’ is the penultimate track on ‘King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2’, Curry’s follow-up to his breakout 2012 mixtape, ‘King Of The Mischievous South Volume One Underground Tape 1996’.
Curry’s latest release draws significant stylistic influence from the 1990s Southern hip-hop scene, which produced artists such as Three 6 Mafia, DJ Screw, The Geto Boys, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, and Tommy Wright III.

In ‘King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2’, Curry continues this legacy by featuring guest artists from various generations, including Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, Project Pat, and 2 Chainz, alongside contemporaries like Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Ty Dolla $ign and others. Kingpin Skinny Pimp also makes contributions to the album’s intro, outro, and interlude tracks.
On 14th July, Curry joined PlayThatBoiZay for a freestyle on BBC Radio 1’s Rap Show.
Curry is scheduled to perform at Reading and Leeds 2024, which will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
