Fontaines D.C. treated fans in New York City to a special moment as they performed ‘Before You I Just Forget’ live for the first time during the final night of their North American tour. The track, which appears on the deluxe edition of their latest album Romance, was added mid-set at their third and last show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on May 18. The slower, more introspective song stood out as a change of pace in the energetic performance, inviting the crowd into a quieter, swaying rhythm.
The band released the original version of Romance last summer, earning widespread praise and landing the Number Two spot on the UK charts. The expanded deluxe edition arrived on April 16, featuring bonus content including a raw, live version of ‘Starburster’ that weaves in a segment of David Lynch’s haunting ‘In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)’.

Guitarist Conor Curley previously explained that ‘Before You I Just Forget’ began with the idea of creating a sound that was constantly evolving — a song that shifted subtly each time it was played, much like stepping into a river that’s never quite the same. He said it concludes with a moving string arrangement composed by lead singer Grian Chatten.
Looking ahead, Fontaines D.C. will hit the road again for a packed summer 2025 festival tour across the UK and Europe, including stops at Primavera Sound and Rock Werchter. They'll also headline shows in cities like London, Cardiff, Newcastle, and Manchester.
