Lady Gaga Spotted in Paris Amid Olympics Performance Rumours
Lady Gaga was seen in Paris ahead of this week’s Olympic Games opening ceremony, sparking rumours of her potential performance.
On 22nd July, the pop star was seen waving and blowing kisses to fans in Paris, intensifying speculation that she will perform at the opening ceremony on 26th July.
A post on X claims that Gaga arrived at her hotel after rehearsals for the opening ceremony.
According to Uproxx, rumours began circulating on 11th July when social media users noticed that Thomas Jolly, the artistic director for the 2024 Summer Games’ opening and closing ceremonies, had recently followed Gaga on Instagram.
Adding to the speculation, the official Olympics account teased a mysterious figure dressed in a black hood and chrome accessories, draped in the Olympic flag, to promote the opening ceremony.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation of Lady Gaga’s participation in the Paris Olympics this year.
This isn’t the first time the singer has been associated with the Olympic Games. In 2021, leaked documents allegedly revealed that Lady Gaga was slated to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In May, Gaga discussed the inspiration behind her upcoming seventh album, stating that she is currently exploring the art of intensity. She mentioned that this exploration began during her ‘Chromatica’ tour but noted that she is not finished with it yet.
Although a title and release date for the album have yet to be confirmed, Gaga will appear next in October’s ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ playing Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in the highly anticipated “jukebox musical” sequel to the 2019 hit film.
Meanwhile, Gaga fans were outraged when the Emmy nominations were announced on 17th July, as her recent concert film ‘Chromatica Ball’ received no nominations. Fans expressed their disappointment on social media, with one calling it “criminal” and another saying she had been “snubbed again.” A third fan remarked that it was the Emmys’ loss.
