NCT U Drop Sultry New Single ‘Make A Wish (Birthday Song)’

A day after making their explosive landing with ‘Misfit,’ NCT U have arrived with yet another offering: the visualizer for their lead single, ‘Make A Wish (Birthday Song)’. This track finds a warm spot on the band’s second album, “Resonance Pt. 1”.

Now, this track opens with a quirky whistling sound mixed up with a funky set of beats. Much like, ‘Misfit’, ‘Make A Wish’ is also primarily driven by sultry rap pieces. What gives the song its great flavour though, are the dreamy falsettos that take a big breath between rap verses. Suffice it to say, this infectious combination makes the single quite the catchy treat. 

Composed by Bobii Lewis, Karen Poole, and Sonny J Mason, this sleek hip-hop track sees NCT U turning dreams to reality and contemplating on the new freedoms granted by stardom. Here, take a look:

Now coming to the music video for ‘Make A Wish (Birthday Song)’ it sees the boys deliver a power packed dance routine, decked in glittering chains and funky outfits. Interestingly, the video takes place within what appears to be traditional arches. From performing on grand embroidered carpets, under blue-tiled roofs and neon lights – NCT U give it their all. 

With ‘Make A Wish (Birthday Song)’ being treated to its very own music video, there’s a high chance that the band’s second lead single, ‘From Home’ will also receive the same treatment.
