Al Pacino has once again made headlines—this time not for a movie role, but for a historic meeting at the Vatican. The 85-year-old Oscar-winning actor became the first Hollywood star to be granted a private audience with Pope Leo XIV, the newly elected American pontiff who succeeded the late Pope Francis.
Al Pacino touched down in Rome over the weekend, flying in style aboard a private jet from New York City. His visit came just in time for a landmark meeting at the Holy See, where he joined a select group from the upcoming film 'Maserati: The Brothers'. Alongside Pacino were producer Andrea Iervolino and fellow members of the film’s delegation, all gathered for a special audience with Pope Leo XIV.

According to Iervolino, the gathering served as a powerful moment of spiritual and cultural reflection. The conversation centred on universal values such as family unity, compassion, love, and a shared responsibility to serve the greater good—principles that the film and the Church both hold dear.
Iervolino highlighted how Pope Leo XIV’s recent messages echo the very themes at the core of 'Maserati: The Brothers', noting a strong connection between the film’s narrative and the values the pontiff continues to champion. The film explores the legacy of the Maserati family, highlighting not only their pioneering spirit and engineering excellence but also their deep mutual respect and enduring solidarity.
