Billie Eilish Dazzles With Signature Grunge Style at 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony Performance
Billie Eilish brought her distinctive grunge aesthetic to the spotlight during the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. The singer sported an oversized white Ralph Lauren polo adorned with the colours of the American flag, complemented by a navy baseball cap, oversized shorts, and chunky boots.
During her performance, Eilish delivered a rendition of her new track ‘Birds of a Feather’, from her latest album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’. She was accompanied on stage by her brother and collaborator, Finneas, who wore a Ralph Lauren Team USA blazer, adding to the patriotic theme.
This performance was part of a larger Venice Beach concert event, which also featured sets from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg. Notably, Snoop Dogg has become a prominent figure associated with the Games through his extensive coverage with NBC.
The performers all have deep connections to Los Angeles—Eilish was born there, the Red Hot Chili Peppers originated in the city, and Snoop Dogg hails from nearby Long Beach. Earlier this year, Eilish released her third studio album, ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’, and recently collaborated with Charli XCX on a remix of the song ‘Guess’, with the accompanying music video released earlier in the summer.
The opening ceremony of the Olympics was also marked by high-profile performances, including Lady Gaga’s rendition of ‘Mon Truc et Plumes’ and Céline Dion’s emotional performance of ‘Hymne à L’amour’ from the Eiffel Tower. Dion’s appearance was particularly notable as it was her first public performance since disclosing her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.
