Bob Dylan has lent his voice to the trailer for MGK’s (formerly Machine Gun Kelly) upcoming album ‘Lost Americana’, which is expected to be released on 8 August. The folk legend had recently sparked curiosity among fans after posting an unexpected video of MGK on his Instagram page, and it now appears he has narrated the new teaser.

In the preview clip, Dylan refers to the project as “a personal excavation of the American dream”, describing it as a sonic journey through forgotten spaces and a tribute to reinvention. He is heard saying that the album celebrates “the beauty found in the in-between spaces”, adding that it reimagines the past and shapes a future defined on one's own terms. The narration is paired with visuals of MGK wandering through mountain landscapes.

Though MGK has not officially confirmed that it is Dylan narrating the trailer, he did post a black-and-white photo of the singer-songwriter on his Instagram Stories. According to Variety, a source has confirmed Dylan’s involvement.

This collaboration follows a curious moment in February, when Dylan’s Instagram—usually reserved for his own tour updates and vintage film clips—shared footage of MGK performing acoustically at Park Ave CDs in Orlando, Florida. MGK later shared that he had the chance to meet Dylan, attributing it to a video of himself rapping in a music store ten years ago. During a stop on Willie Nelson’s ‘Outlaw Music Festival Tour’ in Los Angeles, which Dylan is currently co-headlining, MGK made a surprise appearance alongside Billie Strings, John Stamos, and Johnny Knoxville.

The following day, MGK posted on Twitter/X about the encounter, saying he had a conversation with someone he never imagined he’d meet—all because of that early video.
