Together with its enormous success in Japan and India, 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle' is on track to become one of the largest anime films worldwide after opening to a record-breaking $33 million on its first day at the U.S. box office, the highest ever for an anime film.

Global Box Office Triumph

The first entry in the last arc of the 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' trilogy, 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle,' has been a huge hit at the global box office. The movie had the highest opening day ever for an anime in the United States, grossing $33 million on its first day of release. This smashes previous records including Pokémon: The First Movie's opening weekend gross and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero's single-day revenues.

The movie made over ¥7.31 billion (about US$49.55 million) from the sale of nearly 5.1 million tickets over the course of four days, including a national holiday.

Rebecca Wang as his daughter Koyuki and Channing Tatum as Keizo are among the new cast members for the English-dub version.

What the Future Looks Like

With these record breaks, 'Infinity Castle' is ready to cement its place in anime cinema history. In addition to surpassing previous records, the film's opening day U.S. haul raises the possibility that it will also establish new opening weekend records. Fans will have more chapters to come because of the trilogy style, which allows them time to process the emotional and visual impact of the first installment.

The combination of stellar Japanese box office, high demand in other markets like India, and strong presales and previews globally suggests 'Infinity Castle' will continue to do very well in its run. If sustained, it could challenge—even surpass—the success of 'Mugen Train,' its previous record‑setting predecessor.
