The announcement was made recently— a nod to Stitch’s experimental code name, "626" — as part of a special celebration for fans.
Shared through Disney’s official Instagram account, the announcement featured a short clip of Stitch cruising in a mini pink convertible, leaving behind tire marks that formed the title 'Lilo & Stitch 2'. The post hinted at the surprise, calling it a “626 day” reveal and confirmed that the sequel is actively in development.

'Lilo & Stitch' is Making a Record-Breaking Performance
The live-action adaptation, which is still running in theatres, stars Hawaiian newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo. It opened to record-breaking numbers over Memorial Day weekend, earning $183 million domestically and $341.7 million worldwide in just its first weekend. This marks the biggest Memorial Day weekend debut ever at the box office.
The cast includes original Stitch voice actor and co-creator Chris Sanders, who reprises his role, alongside Sydney Agudong as Lilo’s older sister Nani. Kaipo Dudoit plays David, Nani’s love interest, with Courtney B. Vance as social worker Cobra Bubbles, among others.
