Eva Mendes Responds to Accusations of Complaining About Fame
Eva Mendes has been in the public eye for many years, first as an actress and later for her marriage to Hollywood star Ryan Gosling. Despite their fame, the couple has consistently kept their relationship and their two daughters, Amanda (8) and Esmeralda (9), out of the media spotlight. Mendes and Gosling’s love story began on the set of the 2012 film ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’.
Recently, Mendes expressed gratitude to the paparazzi at the Paris Olympics for blurring her daughters’ faces in photos, respecting their privacy. This came after she announced last year that her daughters do not have internet access. However, her thanks didn’t sit well with some internet users, who accused her of complaining about fame. Mendes quickly defended herself.

Mendes took to Instagram, sharing a selfie and thanking the paparazzi for protecting her daughters’ privacy during their family outing at the Paris Olympics. She wrote, “The minute I see photographers when I’m out, my guard and my wall goes up.” She appreciated that most outlets blurred her children’s faces and praised NBC for not showing them on air.
When critics accused her of complaining about fame, Mendes responded firmly. She clarified that while she understands the attention that comes with fame, she puts up a guard to protect her family. She emphasized that she was not complaining but simply reacting to the presence of cameras.
Last year, Mendes revealed that her daughters do not have internet access, citing the potential dangers it poses to children. She explained that in her home, the internet is off-limits for kids, just like other adult activities such as drinking or driving. Mendes and Gosling also avoid sharing their children’s photos on social media.
