Daniel Craig walked the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.' The 57-year-old actor reflected on his return as detective Benoit Blanc and admitted he still feels fortunate to be part of Rian Johnson's acclaimed whodunit series.
Daniel Craig first stepped into Blanc's shoes in 2019's 'Knives Out' and reprised the role in 2022's 'Glass Onion.' The upcoming third film, arriving in theatres on 26th November before streaming on Netflix on 12th December, sees the Southern sleuth face what has been teased as his most dangerous case yet.
Daniel Craig on Playing Benoit Blanc
Speaking about the character, Daniel Craig described playing Blanc as a stroke of good fortune in his career, comparing it to his time as James Bond. He emphasised how lucky he feels to move from one iconic role to another.

When asked if 'Wake Up Dead Man' could mark the end of his journey as Blanc, Craig made it clear that nothing is decided. He explained that Johnson has been focused on finishing this film, but if the director delivers another compelling script, returning to the role would be an easy decision.
The TIFF premiere brought together an all-star cast alongside Daniel Craig, including Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, and several others, who previously revealed the title with a teaser clip on X, also joined the event. Johnson has described the new film as Blanc's "most dangerous case yet," and production officially wrapped earlier this year.

Is There More 'Knives Out'
The filmmaker has expressed interest in continuing the series beyond the third movie. In earlier interviews, he shared that as long as each mystery offers a fresh cast, setting, and twist—much like Agatha Christie’s novels—he would be excited to keep creating more adventures with Daniel Craig.
Craig, who closed out his five-film run as James Bond with 2021's 'No Time to Die,' is already in talks for other major projects, including Greta Gerwig's adaptation of 'The Chronicles of Narnia.' But for now, fans can look forward to seeing him return as Benoit Blanc when 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' hits theatres on 26th November and Netflix on 12th December.
