The occasion for their surprising reunion was the New York City premiere of 'Kiss of the Spider Woman,' a musical film starring Lopez and executive‑produced by Affleck (through his production company Artists Equity). Affleck donned a traditional blue suit and white shirt, while Lopez chose a spectacular, sculpture-like gown by Harris Reed that evoked a "Spider Queen" motif with a dramatic corset and floral elements. 

Fans noticed their side-by-side poses, their whispered conversations, and even Affleck's motions of placing an arm over her right away.

Lopez thanked Affleck directly during her speech at the screening, saying, "Thank you, Ben. This movie wouldn't have been made without Ben and without Artist Equity." In return, Affleck offered warm praise for her performance, calling it "incredible" and saying she seemed born for the role. 

Did the Reunion Meant Anything?
